Dr. Roberto Valle has a role as full time assistant professor at the UPM in the area of Artificial Intelligence. During his prior studies, he specializes in computer vision and machine learning at PCR Computer Vision Lab. He develops numerous algorithms for vehicle localization, license plate recognition and model identification, OCR of the Spanish ID documents, and localization of buildings on video streams, to name a few. He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence funded by Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, where he has researched an interesting case of study that concerns facial analysis problems such as face detection, head-pose estimation, landmarks localization and visual attributes description. He has been also an industrial PhD student at the EIT Doctoral School where he acquired a mindset for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E). During his PhD he has got an internship under the supervision of Prof. Georgios Tzimiropoulos at the Computer Vision Laboratory in UK.
